Dans une ambiance orientalisante, on se focalise sur les rivalités de cours masculines entre héritiers au lieu des rivalités de cours féminines entre odalisques. Car les palais orientaux ne se limitent pas à la salle du trône et au harem...C'est même presque surprenant que personne n'en ait eue l'idée avant Nathalie Mallet.Le pitch me rappelle quand même le parfum du Cycle de Corwin de Zelazny :Prince Amir lives in a lavish and beautiful cage. He lives in a palace with hundreds of his brothers, all barred by law from ever leaving the palace until he, or one of his brothers, becomes the next Sultan.
